Affordable First Communion Dresses Under $50

It's the time of year for First Communions, and if you have a little girl, the time to find her a beautiful white dress.  I was shocked by the price of some of the dresses out there, so I set out to find some beautiful, yet reasonably priced dresses.  And yes, they are available!


All of these dresses are currently available for under $50, although of course prices and availability could change.


Children's Place has a special occasion section, with several lovely white dresses for $49.95 each.  My favorite was this Puff-Sleeve Rose Dress.

Perhaps surprisingly, I found some pretty dresses on great sales on Amazon.  This Dull Satin Dress with Center Bow and Two Layer Tulle Skirt (7-16) is $36 right now.

This White Satin Bow Organza Dress is on sale for $44.99.  Note that it is a specialty item which takes extra time to ship.

Wow, this Dreamy New Two Tone Puff Skirt Dress (Assorted Colors) was apparantly $132.99, and is now $42.99.  (This picture shows a purple bow, but you can get it in white as well.)

JC Penney also has a number of affordable dresses.  This Keepsake Satin Dress with Bolero is just $35 in the month of April.

Belk, a Southern department store that I know from my childhood, has a number of great sales right now on communion dresses, like this Bonnie Jean Pleated Petal Communion dress on sale for $34.29 (was $98).

I found a few also at Sears, including this Rare Editions dress for $38.83, which seems to be only available in a size 8.

Flower girl and First Communion dresses are often interchangeable, but don't assume that any dress from a bridal store will be crazily expensive.  David's Bridal currently has two lovely dresses on sale for $39.99 - the Cap Sleeve Shantung Ball Gown and the Satin Jacket Dress with 3D Floral Detail (which was $99).

And finally, if your tastes run to something simpler and more unique, Etsy comes to the rescue again.  Check out The Affordable White Gown for $35 from Etsy shop Little LuLu's Sewing.
