Practical wedding gifts for setting up a household are always a great choice, and so is buying from the couple's registry. However, it is also can be very meaningful to give a spiritually-based item to help the couple start their marriage right. In this gift guide, I tried to find religious items that would also be practical to have around and that would not be too dependent on a particular couple's tastes. These gifts range in price from $9.95-$89.95.
A great idea for a newly-married couple that would nourish both body and soul is a Catholic cookbook! Adoremus Books has a nice selection of cookbooks, including some I had not seen. One that my family has used over many years is A Continual Feast by Evelyn Vitz, which they carry for $19.95. It includes many recipes and traditions for throughout the church year and the life of a family.
I also found this Cooking For Christ Christian Kitchen Apron
for $9.95 plus just $3.10 shipping. What a great reminder to the cook!
Cooking for Christ: the liturgical year in the kitchen
A gift that will never go out of style is God's Word! This Catholic Family Bible
An icon, especially with a subject like the Wedding Feast at Cana is a beautiful memento of their special day. Prices start at $9.95 for this one from Monastery Icons.
A unique and uplifting gift would be book or movie concerning Christian marriage. The Jeweller's Shop
When my husband and I were engaged, one of the best books that we read was Fulton's Sheen's Three to Get Married
Finally, if you would really like to give the couple something practical for their home but also want to inspire them, DaySpring
For a newly married couple, I really like this Bless Us Oh Lord... - 11" Glass Serving Plate
I really love this company, so I am excited to announce that Dayspring has generously offered a $50 gift card to one lucky winner!

It would be hard to decide--what would I use the Dayspring gift card to purchase? I love so many of their items. I've been eyeing the "Bless This Home" tiered server, especially since my 9 year old daughter and I have been trying to make more "festive" meals for our family. I'm trying to teach her also about "staging" meals to look nice, and this tiered server could be used for that (e.g., putting little sandwiches and cookies on it for a tea party, etc.)
ReplyDeleteI love so many of their canvas and wall art, too.
Thank you for offering this great giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI' love the Redeemed - Grace Fashion Ring for mom, my sisters, my sister in law and myself. It has a two-fold meaning for us: 1) a reminder of God's grace. 2) blue is the color for colon cancer awareness and we lost Daddy to the disease two years ago. Yesterday would have been his 70th birthday and we all miss him so very much!!!
