Chronicles of Narnia Bargains

During the last few months, we have been listening to audio versions of the first four books of the Chronicles of Narnia during our carpool.  My five year old daughter is a huge fan, and even her younger siblings have been absorbing some Narnian lore.

I'm sure that many of you are also fans of C.S. Lewis's timeless series, so I thought I would share a few deals on some of my favorite versions of the books.

The audiobooks that we have been listening to are the Harper Audiobooks The Chronicles of Narnia Complete 7 Volume CD Box Set (Unabridged).  The books are each read by a different esteemed British actor, and the narration could not be better.  Each actor does wonderful voices for the different characters.  The complete set is $47.25 right now on Amazon, but there are used versions available for as low as $23.84 (plus $3.99 shipping).  That is a great price for hours and hours of story.

I was thrilled to find an old VHS tape of the BBC's Narnia TV specials at a thrift store last weekend.  Although there are newer Hollywood versions of the first three books, these older productions are more faithful to the books and also more appropriate for younger audiences.  So I was excited to find that the DVD versions of this series are readily available and relatively inexpensive on Amazon.

The 3-Disc Set is $29.04 right now, but there are tons of used versions available for under $10 including shipping.  (There are multiple versions of the DVDs available, so check here and here.)

These are some great deals on wonderful ways to introduce your family to Narnia!
