My name is Liz, and I am a Catholic mom living in Northern Virginia with my husband and three young children - ages 5, 3, and 1.* My husband works in IT, and I stay home with the little ones. I am a cradle Catholic and a graduate of a small Catholic college.
I have been blogging about frugal living for a couple of years over at my frugal lifestyle blog,Frugally Blonde, where I publish a list of deals at Wegmans grocery stores each week. I was inspired to start Catholic Deals after realizing that despite all the blogs out there sharing deals for everything under the sun, I had never seen a blog that featured deals for Catholic products. Like other Catholic parents, I want to purchase religious articles, books, and media for my family, but I have been frustrated in the past with how expensive they can be. There are good deals out there, however, and at this blog you can find them all in one place.
Of course, having more Catholic stuff does not by itself make a Catholic home, but I believe that filling your home with items that express your faith can certainly help. My parents filled our home with stories of the saints, movies that portrayed true heroism, and icons and crucifixes on the walls. Those images are what formed my imagination and my taste and influence it to this day.
My hope is that this blog will help make it possible for Catholic families to fill their homes with quality Catholic and Christian products that will enhance their spiritual and family lives.
